Monkey Shoulder. «Плечо обезьяны» - этим названием виски обязан прозвищу его основателя Вильяма Гранта, который после тяжелой травмы плеча, полученной во время работы с лопатой на производстве, сильно смахивал на обезьяну. Сегодня ручной труд – это анахронизм, но вот рецептура остается неизменной уже 150 лет. Оригинальность заключается в использовании «тройного солода», т.е. объединены односолодовые виски из трех самых лучших винокурен Спейсайда. В букете ярко слышна солодовая сладость, потом гармонично присоединяются оттенки ванили, меда, пряного дуба, в финале еле улавливаются нежные нюансы банана, заварного крема. Вкус невероятно мягкий, доминирует ваниль, мед, сочные фрукты.

One day, our legendary Malt Master David Stewart decided to create the world’s first 'triple' malt, by combining single malts from three of Speyside’s finest distilleries.

Why's it so mellow?
Well, for starters, there’s not a single drop of grain whisky in our Monkey Shoulder, and the chosen malts mature in first fill ex-bourbon casks. Our own coopers repair these ex-bourbon casks so that they impart a smooth and mellow vanilla flavour into the resting malt whisky. And then, there's Brian Kinsman our new who's our Master now. He always chooses the right combination of casks for every batch he makes, ensuring each one is deliciously smooth and rich as the last.

A Threesome is Better than a Onesome
The three Speyside malts are then blended together in a small marrying tun where they hang out making eyes at each other for anything from three to six months.

A Marriage Made in Heaven
When it’s ready and taste tested by Brian, this triple malt whisky gets bottled and receives its triple monkey badge.
Destined for great bars and homes, that’s our Monkey Shoulder. Smooth and rich, 100% malt Scotch whisky, distilled, matured and bottled in Dufftown, Scotland.

Some say it tastes just like riding bareback on the wild moors of Scotland with a flame haired maiden on Christmas morning. Others agree it tastes like 007 wearing a tuxedo wetsuit. If you haven’t tried either yet but want a handy little cheat sheet to check out, here you go - but remember it’s completely up to you, what you think it tastes like.

Nose: Zesty Orange meets mellow vanilla, honey and spiced oak

Taste: Mellow vanilla with spicy hints

Finish: Super smooth

Whatever you make of Monkey shoulder, it’s amazing on the rocks or bartender to make one of the Monkey Shoulder mixes we have there, or get them to rustle up something they’ve invented. Have a crack at some of them too, as we've made sure you don’t have to be a bartender guru to knock these up.
